The Snowy Day 2017

Celebrate the wonder of winter with The Snowy Day Forever stamps, inspired by Ezra Jack Keats’s beloved 1962 children’s book. Four designs feature Peter exploring his snow-covered neighborhood in his iconic red snowsuit: forming a snowball, sliding down a snowy hill, making a snow angel, and leaving footprints in the fresh snow. One of the first prominent American picture books centered on an African American child, The Snowy Day received the 1963 Caldecott Medal. Antonio Alcalá designed the stamps using Keats’s original illustrations. Issued in 2017 in booklets of 20, these Forever stamps are always equal in value to the current First-Class Mail one-ounce rate.
