George Morrison 2022

Honor George Morrison (1919–2000), one of the nation’s greatest modernist artists and a founding figure of Native American modernism. Morrison challenged traditional ideas about what Native American art should be and became best known for abstract landscapes and monumental wood collages inspired by childhood memories and his connection with the natural world. The pane of 20 stamps showcases five of his colorful abstract landscapes, while the selvage features a photograph of Morrison in his home studio. Antonio Alcalá served as art director and designer.
