Coral Reefs Postcard 2019

Celebrate the beauty, diversity, and wonder of coral reefs with these four postcard stamps featuring highly stylized digital illustrations of stony corals and their associated marine life. The designs depict elkhorn coral with two French angelfish, brain coral with a spotted moray eel, staghorn coral with bluestriped grunts, and pillar coral with a coney grouper and neon gobies. Built over thousands of years by colonies of tiny coral polyps, reefs provide food and shelter for approximately one-quarter of all ocean species. Tyler Lang created the original artwork, and Ethel Kessler served as art director and stamp designer. Issued in 2019 in panes of 20 and coils of 100, these nondenominated stamps are intended for mailing standard domestic postcards.
