Sailboats Postcard 2023

Celebrate the joy of sailing with these two colorful postcard stamps featuring abstract illustrations of boats cutting through the waves at full heel. One design shows a single sailboat with a yellow-striped white mainsail and pink jib gliding above royal-blue water, while the other depicts two boats racing under full sail, one with teal-and-white sails and the other with a red-tipped white sail. Artist Libby VanderPloeg created the crisp digital artwork and hand-lettered the word “postcard,” drawing inspiration from her childhood near Lake Michigan. Antonio Alcalá served as art director. Issued in 2023 in panes of 20 and coils of 100, these nondenominated stamps remain valid for the current domestic postcard rate.
