Bluegrass Music 2024

Celebrate the rich history of bluegrass, a uniquely American music style that blends old-time folk and fiddle music with elements of blues, jazz, country, and gospel. Inspired by vintage bluegrass concert posters, the stamp features four acoustic string instruments commonly used by bluegrass bands—a guitar, five-string banjo, fiddle, and mandolin—beneath the word “Bluegrass.” The phrase “High Lonesome Sound,” a familiar nickname for bluegrass, appears at the top. Art director Antonio Alcalá worked with designer and illustrator Heather Moulder to create the stamp.
